Wegmiller Delights in Cooking
What started as making homemade candy for family and friends, over a five-year period, has grown into a full-service catering business. Located in a historic house over a century old, Retha Wegmiller, owner of Angel Delight, enjoys baking, cooking and entertaining for all types of events, putting her special touch on each one. Retha especially likes creating recipes of soups, sauces and salad dressings making her dishes even more unique and delicious.
Elegantly wrapped candies, cookies and dessert bars make great gifts for corporate clients, family and friends. Mail orders are currently being taken for the holidays and military personnel serving over seas. Dessert trays, gift baskets and boxed cakes can be delivered locally.
A majority of Retha’s business is taking care of her corporate clients for lunch caterings. A record is kept of what foods each office likes and particularly what special homemade desserts they enjoy. She also makes note of those clients that have allergies or restricted dietary needs and is able to accommodate them since most of her dishes are made from scratch.
As a result of client requests, soon to be available on a greater scale will be casseroles, soups and family-style dinners that can be picked up on the way home from work for the family evening meal or weekend entertaining. Because so many of our elderly and home-bound population are unable to cook for themselves homemade individual meals ready for the microwave will be available for their enjoyment. It’s also nice to purchase soups or meals for those just getting home from the hospital.
Private dining is available by reservation for 6-40 guests in her elegant tearoom located at 417 S. Washington any day or time for anniversaries, birthdays, little girl tea parties or just couples wanting to enjoy a quiet night out of the ordinary. Off-site catering for wedding receptions, class reunions and civic functions keep Retha busy year round. To reserve the tearoom or order specialty desserts and meals please call Retha at
580/234-0113 or 580/542-2639.
