Fourth of July Festivities

July 4 activities at Meadowlake Park will begin at 6 a.m. Sunday with the Liberty Federal Savings Bank Fishing Derby. The fishing derby concludes at noon.There are cash prizes for each tagged fish. The prize for the largest catfish is $100 and five runners-up will receive $20 each. There also will be prizes for the longest fish. Assisting sponsor is H&H Baits and More, 2219 Grand Ave.
There is no fishing allowed before 6 a.m. Sunday. Admission is free and the fishing derby is open to all ages.
Trotlines or nets to catch fish are not allowed, but nets are allowed to land the fish. No fishing is allowed from the golf course and people age 16 and older must have a valid Oklahoma fishing license.
On Sunday evening Enid Symphony Orchestra will present the concert, “Chips and Salsa,” followed by a fireworks display by the city of Enid. The fireworks program choreographed to symphony music will begin at dusk.
